Reverse Garbage is an environmental organisation that puts people first. We provide support for other community, creative and educational organisations. This support is often in the form of materials or service in kind and is occasionally in the form of small financial donations.
But sometimes we surprise ourselves by helping out in ways that are bigger than we could have imagined.
In 2009 we donated 400 kilos of classroom supplies, toys and clothes to Sunrise Children’s Villages in Cambodia. And in 2011 we worked with the television show The Renovators and raised awareness and over $10,000 for Kool Kids in La Perouse, a support service for Aboriginal kids in South Sydney.
Each year we support hundreds of organisations, events and individuals but we also have a handful of organisations we provide with ongoing support. These include Kool Kids, Sydney Homeless Connect, Jesuit Social Services and disability service provider FRANZ.
We do the above because we believe that there is no point in taking care of the environment if we don’t take care of each other.
As an organisation committed to social justice and environmental progress we like to say YES as often as we can. If your community group or school needs materials or advice about REUSE please call us on +61 2 9569 3132 or email us on info @ reversegarbage.org.au
We can’t always give materials away but we can offer free advice and discounts to groups who need our support. We also offer a range of tours and educational workshops tailored to age groups, ability and particular curriculum needs.
