About us
Reverse Garbage is the largest and longest established REUSE centre in Australia. We are a not-for-profit with 35 years experience in creative and pragmatic REUSE. Established by a group of teachers looking for a clever and resourceful way of providing art & craft materials for classroom Reverse Garbage now provides educational programs, advice on REUSE projects and diverts more than 12,000 cubic metres of waste from landfill each year through direct sales and philanthropic donations to other community groups.
In 2009 we donated 400 kilos of classroom supplies, toys and clothes to Sunrise Children’s Villages in Cambodia. This year we continue to support a number of organisations by providing support and materials including (but not limited to) FRANS, Kool Kids in South Sydney and Redfern Community Centre.
As an organisation committed to social justice and environmental progress we like to say YES as often as we can. If your community group or school needs materials or advice about REUSE please call us on +61 2 9569 3132 or email us on info@reversegarbage.org.au
We can’t always give materials away but we can offer free advice and discounts to groups who need our support. We also offer a range of tours and educational workshops tailored to age groups, ability and particular curriculum needs.
